We were delighted to speak with Linda McCormick, now a Get Ahead franchisee, for this conversation. Linda learned about the franchise opportunity through Investing in Women and has now been with the business for nearly a year. Linda stumbled upon one of our previous Lives with Get Ahead Founder Rebecca Newenham on LinkedIn, where, after listening for a few minutes, she soon realised this was exactly the opportunity she was looking for!
Get Ahead connects businesses with a vast pool of experts. They have around 70 experts on board, and more are coming through the process. They get to know their experts well, identifying their strengths, weaknesses, and additional skills. For example, an expert may be a skilled digital marketer with a strong understanding of social media or a marketer who speaks French. Get Ahead presents this information in an easily accessible format, then works with businesses to understand their needs and match them with the right expert.
Listen in as we discuss franchising and hear from Linda about her experience launching her own franchise. She’ll share her insights on what she has learned and what she would do differently if she were to relaunch her franchise. Linda also discusses what she has enjoyed about the process and how it has benefited her.
And if you’re now inspired to launch your own franchise, check out our interview with Rebecca Newenham, the Founder of Get Ahead, here.

- Starting your own business can be overwhelming because you have a lot to do, and you have to be everything to everyone. However, entering a franchise can be amazing because it feels like a security blanket.

- In franchising, it has been a massive change for me. I don’t have to do all the things; I only need to focus on what I do best, which is matching experts with businesses.
- Franchising lets you off that leash of being tied to all the other tasks that you really don’t need to be doing, and helps you find your groove and do it really well.
- Do peer research, don’t count yourself out, and make sure you find one that really fits and aligns with your genuine aspirations.
