On Broadway® Dance Fitness

A musical theatre-inspired dance fitness franchise

For people who want to build a flexible, meaningful business around a love of dance, musicals and helping women feel more confident.

The franchise provides a proven business model, exclusive territory, an extensive library of 100+ routines, marketing support, automated client-management systems, an operations manual and business blueprint, training, coaching and access to a supportive franchisee community.

Franchisees deliver welcoming, non-judgemental classes

Where clients learn choreography inspired by iconic musicals such as Chicago, A Chorus Line and Dirty Dancing.

Each routine is taught progressively over four weeks, giving clients a real sense of achievement while allowing franchisees to teach the same choreography across multiple classes each week.

The model is designed to be flexible and scalable.

Franchisees can begin with a small weekly timetable and grow at a pace that suits them.

With the option to expand into additional venues, build a team of instructors and gradually spend more time growing the business rather than teaching every class themselves.

Meet the founder Katy Robinson

A former professional dancer

Katy began her career performing on cruise ships before moving into the fitness industry. After experiencing burnout from teaching more than 40 classes a week, she stepped away and built a second career as an Executive Assistant.

In 2013, Katy launched On Broadway® Dance Fitness alongside her full-time job, combining her love of dance, musical theatre and fitness with a desire to create a welcoming, non-judgemental space for women. Eight months later, she left employment to grow the business full time.

Today, On Broadway® Dance Fitness operates through a growing UK franchise network, with Katy’s mission to improve the lives of 10,000 women through dance, confidence, connection and joy.

Who is it a good fit for?

You don’t need to be a professional dancer, have formal dance training or already be a qualified dance fitness instructor

What matters far more is a love of dance and musicals, an enthusiasm for helping other women, and the desire to build a flexible, meaningful business of your own.

If you don’t already hold the required dance fitness teaching qualification, we can support you through the training route to gain the qualification you need to teach On Broadway® Dance Fitness classes.

How to get started!

The first step is simply to download our Franchise Opportunity Prospectus and find out more.

Once you’ve registered to receive the prospectus, we’ll also invite you to watch our pre-recorded Group Discovery Session, giving you the opportunity to explore the franchise in more depth, hear more about how the business works and understand the support available.

If it leaves you thinking “I’d love to explore this further”, the next step is to book a chat with Katy. From there, you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, explore territory availability, speak to existing franchisees and carry out your own due diligence before making any decisions.

If we both feel there’s a good fit, we’ll then guide you through securing your territory, completing any required training or qualifications, setting up your business and preparing for launch.

Not qualified to teach yet?

That doesn’t have to stop you.

On Broadway® can support you with a route to gain the appropriate dance fitness teaching qualification as part of your journey to launch.

Flexibility and earning potential

On Broadway® Dance Fitness is designed to give franchisees flexibility not only in when they work, but in how they make the transition into self-employment.

The business model is based on teaching a minimum of three classes per week, which means it can be built around an existing job, children or other commitments. For some franchisees it may remain a flexible part-time business; for others, it can grow into a full-time career and larger business.

Founder Katy Robinson took exactly that approach herself

“I didn’t leave my employed job and then start the business. I built On Broadway® Dance Fitness alongside my job as an Executive Assistant. I was teaching six classes a week while still employed and grew the business to around £3,000 a month in revenue before I felt able to make the leap and leave my EA career.

That’s one of the things I love about the model now. You don’t have to decide on day one that you’re giving up your career and going all-in. You can start with a smaller timetable, prove the model in your area and build from there.”

And growth doesn’t have to mean personally teaching more and more classes.

As the business develops, franchisees can add venues, classes and a team of instructors, allowing the business to serve more clients and generate more income without the franchisee having to personally deliver every class.

Earning potential will vary according to client numbers, pricing, territory, operating costs and how each franchisee chooses to grow their business. All earning examples are illustrative rather than guaranteed, and we encourage every prospective franchisee to carry out their own due diligence.

Joanne

“I’ve gone from having to work loads of hours, weekends & evenings… to now being able to make my OWN schedule that works for me and my life.”

Rosie

“Exactly what I wanted as a new Mum! I was nervous at first, but I had LOADS of amazing support from Katy and other Franchisees. I now have an amazing work-life balance, I have a team of instructors, and my business has grown and grown!”
