Society expects children to be well-behaved, responsible, and sociable, but the parents who shape them can be busy, stressed, and tired. Rachel Vecht is the founder of Educating Matters, a team that supports parents and carers in raising happy, healthy children, and she joins Elizabeth for a live chat about being a good parent.
Rachel shares a presentation on some of her top parenting principles, exploring what science says about the best parenting style and how to be a role model for your children. You’ll hear the most effective way to praise your child, which will motivate them to do what you want them to do and what disciplining your child should actually look like.
Rachel also includes many other resources, such as her favourite parenting books and what she teaches in her popular parenting course. She also responds to viewers’ questions, such as, “How do I get the kids out of the door in the morning without losing my temper?”
This interview touches on many of the struggles that parents face today and is an excellent resource to keep coming back to on your journey towards being the parent you want to be.
