Welcome to this week’s episode of our LinkedIn and Facebook Live broadcast. Today, we’re talking with Roz Hobley, a coach at Giant, about harnessing your unique abilities through self-awareness.
Self-awareness is the foundation for personal and professional influence, especially with those closest to us. By understanding ourselves, our tendencies, and how we react under pressure, we can implement simple tools and actions to improve our relationships and make a positive impact. Having control and influence in our relationships, whether in a marriage, with teamwork, or with our children, is essential for success. By intentionally maximising our strengths, we can unlock our full potential and make a move without regrets.
Today, Roz will discuss the Five Voices Personality System, which is used in over a hundred countries worldwide. This system was created to help individuals better understand themselves, tap into their strengths, and increase self-awareness. Going through the Five Voices will improve trust in your team or family and help you communicate more effectively. Roz will present each of the five voices and provide a top parenting tip for each one.

Notable Quotes
- I thought I knew myself, but now I understand why I react in some ways and have the tendencies that I do, and I can put some strategies in place.
- Influence is the foundation for good relationships, be that of a marriage, teamwork, and/or parent and children.
- A system like the Five Voices provides a framework to listen, understand, and support one another. It has been created for individuals, families, and teams to help you understand your strengths and tendencies.
- We could think of a nurturer as the relational oil in a team, family, or community. And if you think about what happens to a car when it doesn’t have the oil, things crunch, it doesn’t work, it might have an accident, and that’s what nurturers bring to a team. They make sure that there is a flow in the team, that people feel heard, and that they feel understood.
- The superpower of the creative voice is innovative thinking and seeing a world that doesn’t yet exist. They are like oxygen because they will love going out and looking at the trends, anticipating the future, and then feeding that back to you.
- If you are managing a creative, please make sure that they know it’s okay to make mistakes and it’s okay to get things wrong because if they don’t feel that security, they won’t feel empowered to be able to do that in that way.
- The growth point for guardians might be around tone and tact, and sensitivity, especially if they’re working in a team where people are under pressure, and they’ve detached themselves a little bit.
- Connectors are future-orientated and highly relational, so they’re good at seeing growth for a person, the future growth of a team, or a company.
- Pioneers love to be the best, and they love to surround themselves with people who are outstanding in their fields. They have great military thinking and are good at aligning systems, resources, and people.
